Software Engineer

Narratize is an AI-powered platform built for knowledge management, agentic intelligence, and innovation pipeline acceleration. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our team, working across our full-stack architecture to develop intelligent systems that help product teams bring superior innovations to market faster. This role balances core platform engineering with a critical client-facing, forward-deployed component.

• Design and build AI-powered features, full-stack solutions (TypeScript/Node.js/React), and intelligent data processing pipelines hosted on AWS infrastructure
• Dedicate 25–50% of your time to client-facing technical work, partnering directly with customer engineering teams for system integrations, engineer-to-engineer troubleshooting, and collaborative debugging
• Build and optimize systems that coordinate multiple AI capabilities throughout the enterprise product development lifecycle
• Actively participate in paired programming, technical design reviews, and close collaborative sessions in the Cincinnati office to rapidly level up your engineering toolkit
• Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing, and participate in agile processes (sprint planning, refactoring, and code reviews)

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience, ideally within a SaaS or fast-paced startup environment
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript (Node.js, Next.js) for backend services and API development
• Solid React experience for building responsive, interactive frontend applications
• Experience with AWS cloud services including Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, and related infrastructure
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, etc.)
• Comfort with Docker and containerization for development and deployment
• Database knowledge spanning both SQL and NoSQL systems
• Excellent communication skills and empathy required to work face-to-face with customer engineers
• Strong debugging skills across distributed systems and passion for digging into unfamiliar codebases
• Ability to work out of the Cincinnati office 3–4 days a week for dedicated team collaboration and mentorship

• Python development skills
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search
